Stage 1: Cleared!

Yes it's been ages. i'm a tired boy. *yawn*

Camp Hoosha (30th Jul - 6th Aug)
Sad to say, it was a disappointing orientation experience, from an ex-camp participant point off view. having enjoyed myself thoroughly last yr (likewise for e many seniors who worked hard for e camp), hall camp was sth i looked fw to. no sorry beoh za boh is not part of my agenda. y disappointing? bcoz our OG nv had a proper day of attendance. it would not b exaggerated to say tt most of e time, there were more seniors than freshmen. how sad is tt? tis' a FOC aft all. e camp's for e yr1s, yet e seniors were everywhere instead. tis is a general consensus for all e camp grps too, unfortunately. enthusiasm level wise, our OG was no where near e top 3 of e 6 anytime, mabe except during Cheer Fight, which we won, to my amazement.

dun get me wrong. e yr1s are nice ppl. many of us are nice ppl, of cos. but it's a camp aft all. enthusiasm for camp has become a cliche? oh well. nonetheless, glad to noe u guys, Jaafar. stay close. if not, Kyojin welcomes u into our big family. e many activities we went thru in this technically 6 full days of camp.. i hope u guys haf enjoyed it as much as we wanted u guys to. on a separate note, blk5 may become a potentially united blk. only time will tell, of cos.

it'd b great to take a pic with Yiyuan, Swee Eng (bottom right), Renjie (top left) and Benny together. E seniors, ever so young at heart, who haf left their mark in my little heart, n whose words of wisdom n encouragement i will ever remem, till my memory fails me.

Academics - playing catch up soon.
e academic side seems to b signalling it's shiong-ness soon.. 228 has been taking my life.. seemingly reasonable deadlines for submission of assignments haf actually been pretty much cut-throat. Chinese has nv been more difficult in my life than now. worse tt i've to come to terms tt i'm no longer of any decent standard anymore. my chinese juz plain sux. i've to make comments in english during e chinese lesson. how bad is tt. cry.

on e other hand, radio practicum is potentially gonna b fun, although prob more taxing than wad e module AUs suggest. nonetheless, i'm looking fw to it. had our first proper meeting last nite to finalise certain stuff abt wad we'll b doin. n i realised it's a combination of 2 things which i suck at - creativity n technicalities. oh great. wad a sem ahead.

Lioncity Dance Competition - 26 Aug
Yes.. i actually joined e dance competition.. n tis has been precisely y i've been feeling tired over. in preparation of e comp, shisi n me haf been practicing almost every day. it's been tiring, boring, n frustrating. frustrating for her cos she took some time to recover from her sickness, not to mention her under-sized 2.5-in shoes. frustrating for me, cos i haf no enthusiasm to sustain me thru, n i had to sacrifice much - from Inter-block games to OG dinners. n of cos, i'd be so tired tt i din do my readings. amazingly, i always woke up for class.

aniwae, Stamford ballroom was our venue, n grade D was our competition category. Grade D basically means we'll b doin 2 dances, i.e. e cha-cha-cha n e rhumba, both latin (there's also standard grade D, which is waltz n tango). We were in heat 3 n 1 respectively, n of cos, we din make e second round. subsequently, zhiyuan told us tt Grade D's standards shldn't b so high, but bcoz many Grade A competitors came down to our level in attempt to win a medal, hence e stiffen-ed competition.

consolation? well, not realli. i nv expected us to get anywhere beyond where we were to be. but it was true tt many Grade A (being more dances: samba, cha-cha-cha, rhumba, paso doble n jive) competitors (which we subsequently saw them compete in e Grade A comp) participated in Grade D comp. well, there's tis couple no. 93 who i enjoyed watching. and for Grade C (urm, ok, cha-cha-cha, rhumba n jive), couple 188 fr e Philippines! e guy was super funny la his facial expressions. =D

we also witnessed e Latin junior competition (grade A minus e paso doble). there was tis pair from South Korea n they were realli small n cute! n e boy was v seh n cute too. haha.

perhaps, i din enjoy much of e dance prac. e competition din matter much to me either. but i muz admit tt having not spent much money (bought a pair of n-th hand dance shoes for 10, pants for 29, reused ocs book-out white l/s top), i got to open my eyes n see in person e various dances live. n i was entertained.

but in my rush out of e house on Sat morn, i forgot to bring my digi cam. so e below r but poor quality pics fr my still-trusty N7260.. took no pics of myself though. oops? haha.
