Juz want to relate a small incident tt i experienced while coming home on Fri, 23rd Jun..

For e uninformed, Boon Lay bus terminal has shifted to a not too far off location tt's still beside e mrt station, juz e opposite side. e terminal looks a lot bigger, n e bus boarding berths haf been slightly reshuffled as well. for me, e process of changing from 179/199 to 157/174 is now 5min-walk longer, since e alighting area is a million miles away fr e boarding berth. for NTU ppl, take heart. cos 179 n 199 is still e furtherst berth. =P hey i suffer too k. cos my 174 is now situated 2 berths b4 179, means it's damn far. sadness.

aniwae, so i made my way there via e main road (ie traffic lights), n realised tt e traffic light is now THE bottleneck for buses turning out fr e terminal. it takes kinda long i tink to switch. well, at least i stood there waiting for e green man for like, damn long. n den i watched myself miss my bus, which is as-per-normal. so i tot, oh well, 15mins.

now now, at 6pm on Fri, 15min for bus interval is LOOOOONG. y? cos it's peak period! by right, it shld come in approx 10min. however, __________. yah. so e long wait began, n culminated in a queue tt was, urm, LOOOOONG. VERY long. V V V long.

i shall b fair n say tt i didn't take note of e time nor activate my stopwatch, but e wait did feel like yrs even though i was pretty occupied at lookin at all e other buses tt came n went. tog w my 174 berth were 181 n 255, both feeder services. for e record, 2 double-deck 255s came n a single-deck 181. n at any pt in time, e 174 queue muz haf been like, 10 times? ok mabe juz 3 times longer than e 255 queue.

n so, e 174 finally came, n to my dismay (ok, lemme admit tt i expected tis), a single-deck came! yay! so how to squeeze everybody on? well...

-juz squeeze lor, sg ppl dun like to wait for next bus wad-

of cos lah. next bus come in another 15min, n will b another single-deck wad.

n although i honestly din see for myself clearly, i tink e ppl at e back of e queue weren't able to board e bus..

Public Transport in Sg is admired by all around e world, except in Sg. honestly, it's really not bcoz sg has a lousy system, but tt e balance b/w serving e ppl n making profits juz doesn't seem to b there. there's too much emphasis on profit-making with too many justifications. i nv remem having to wait for mrt for more than 5min last time. now? i got see 8mins. i'm sure ppl haf seen worse. buses haf nv been too regular la. but with so many double-decks in their inventory, will it kill? or juz decr e interval lah.

we dun realli need improvements to e trpt hardware anymore, realli. tv mobile. still intermittent aniwae. nicer seats? can seat can liao.

but wait 15mins only to wait another 15mins for a 5min ride?

mabe it's a ploy to get us to exercise.
