Hall2 Fast 2 Furious

Nite cycling is still THE event of hall2 which i strongly recommend ppl to join.

seriously, there aren't anymore events tt can b as fun as nite cycling. my humble opinion.

tis yr's route was meant to kill. neverending upslopes greeted us wherever we were... gentle ones, steep ones. aplenty. downslopes were scant consolation realli. TIRING ah! my thighs feel painful. yes yes i'm a weak boy with minimal muscles n such. (edit: how can i forget to mention tt my group's name is Integra? haha. e other grps were Evo, Rx8, Skyline n WRX. dun gimme tis face -_-)

-briefing time is phototaking time-

lots of photo taking as usual, since waiting is realli boring n fruitless. can u imagine? we were supposed to meet at 1030pm, yet e first batch of peops set off from hall at... 1230am. yay. tok abt efficiency. from jalan bahar, we turned into e long stretch of road (tink is called lim chu kang rd?) n cycled past all e cemeteries. den we made a right turn into Neo Tiew Rd. all e way man...

-Pitstop 1: Kranji Dam-

at e end of Neo Tiew Rd awaits Kranji Dam, our first stop. no food, juz brief refreshments biscuits n water. we were supposed to drink newater from straws tt had been tampered with in order to claim a 40 bucks food fund. of cos we din complete e games properly. of cos we got e 40 bucks nonetheless. aniwae, e calm surface of e water in e dam would've made for a gd photo shoot. unfortunately, my digi cam is not tt great, n i'm much more worse. doesn't help tt there's no tripod lah.

-Foodstop: Chong Pang nasi lemak-

tis one involved a lot of traffic lights sia. along e mrt track we went, passing Kranji, Marsiling, Woodlands (yes causeway pt we passed..), Admiralty. yeah along Sembawang Rd, basically. long long rd. note e shack faces everywhere. but e nasi lemak is gd. apparently e water chestnut drink is gd too.. well when u r tired, everything feels gd.

-Pitstop 2: Yishun Ave 1-

tis is my guess actually.. i duno e rd name. it basically links Yishun to Seletar side. it's realli a long stretch of 2-lane road. e view of Upper Seletar Reservoir with Orchid Country Club golf course with e floodlights all switched on. is there realli such a need? oh well. made for a gd photoshoot spot again. yes i reward myself with taking pics whenever i tink i haf e time. many shots r fluffed of cos. here's realli a pitstop to rest n take pics. oh, apparently tis stretch of rd is frequented by ppl who race or wanna try some stunt driving. of cos, we dun understand y...

-bright lights of Orchid Country Club.. now u noe y oil price up-

aft abt 10-15mins, it's off to our next pitstop. by now, it's abt.. i tink 5am? abt there.

-Pitstop 3: Jalan Kayu area-

yes, e famous Jalan Kayu roti prata shop is still in business, but all we did was ride past it into e alley u see n take a break. Exxonmobil station become our relief station. ppl r all dying by now. haha. tired lah ref.

-Final Destination: Punggol Jetty-

wah here muz comprain a bit. 3 consecutive steep up n down slopes lah! downslopes r song but e upslopes kill sia (writer's note: my mum says it's a "traditional" road built long ago.. “很久以前就建了的山路”). e view wasn't breathtaking. but it was gd enuf for my cam to kick into action. my thighs were hurting. not aching but hurting. n i respect all those gals (lots of them i tell ya) who realli managed to cycle all e way past all these slopes, some of whom were unable to change gear n some who din noe how to.. power mamas! bfast is delicious 豆浆油条.. from where i din ask. Thanx Peiqi, jcrc welfare.

-e sun's up-

yeah e sun's up as i stare across to e ports of South Johor. n while e tiredness swarm me, can't help but wonder WTF is happening in Thailand. oh well. economic competitiveness has become e new buzzword. e strongest proponents are none other than our dear govt. jingru made tis comment while we were cycling, "wah, can't believe Sg still got so much undeveloped areas." he meant it in a positive sense of cos. all we see are e urbanised city, e HDBs. a nite cycling brings u into contact with e dairy farms (with its FRAGRANCE in ur face full blast for a long stretch of rd too) n e greenery (no, i dun mean those they planted at Suntec City) n all tt.

we were cycling towards Punggol Jetty n saw e LRT stations of Punggol. they realli looked out of place above e stretches of green fields. to me, they looked like pavilions in Chinese Gdn, albeit realli elevated ones. of cos, u can bet ur last dollar tt soon, e surrounding will b made to fit in with these lrt stations.

my thighs hurt. wen's e next nite cycling?
